Ky Michaelson (The Rocketman)

I have been asked by a number of people why I built my Rocket Belt. The answer is easy, I was inspired after seeing Peter Gijsberts Rocket Belt website. Then I wanted to Rocket Beltbuild my own Rocket Belt. My goal was to build the belt for less then the cost of a motorcycle. Yes! That's right. I built my belt for under $10.000.00. Generally speaking Rocket Belts are simple to build if you have mechanical skills, and you can weld and operate machinery. Before I started building my Belt. I decided my ultimate goal was to fly it one foot off the ground and park it. I am a 68 year old retired Stunt man, and I don't need anymore pain. Another thing that is important to me is that I don't just throw things together. Because I am a gifted man and I take great pride in the way I build things. I decided to build my belt different from the other belts that were built in the past. I used a ball valve to control the fuel flow. Because in my case that should be adequate. One final thought. I have been building hydrogen peroxide rockets motors for over 35 years and I have never seen one that did not work. Just be careful and play safe. So after a little hard work this is what I came up with.
